June 2026 Newsletter

Dear Gweek Classic Boatyard Community,

We hope you are all keeping well and have been enjoying the sailing season so far.

We have had a very busy winter season and are now coming to the end of the main launching period, with boats heading back onto the water ready for the summer ahead.

Although the busiest launch period is nearly complete, we are still more than happy to assist with launching your boat, as well as offering storage or workspace over the summer months if required. Please do get in touch with the office to discuss your requirements — we are always happy to help.

Yard Team Update

We are delighted to share some great news from the yard team. Alongside Simeon, our Yard Manager, both Luke and Duncan have now successfully completed their crane driver training, passing with flying colours.  Having three fully trained crane drivers gives us greater flexibility and ensures we can continue to provide efficient support whenever needed. Well done to all of you.

2026/2027 Winter Storage Spaces

We are already receiving strong interest for the 2026/2027 winter season and, as in previous years, priority booking is being offered first to returning customers.

If you are a returning customer from the 2025/2026 season and would like to secure your space at Gweek for the 2026/2027 season, please email info@gweekquay.co.uk to confirm your interest in returning, if you have not already done so. There is no need to book specific dates at this stage — this simply allows us to reserve spaces before offering them to those currently on the waiting list.

To guarantee your space, please contact us by the end of June. After this date, spaces may still be available, but this cannot be guaranteed. If you already know that you will not require storage next season, we would appreciate hearing from you so that your space can be offered to someone on the waiting list.

If you have not had your boat stored with us last year and would like to speak to us about storage for the 2026/2027 season, please get in touch with the office and we will issue you a lay-up form and add you to our wait list.

For customers on the waiting list, we will provide an update in July once we have finalised allocations and logistics.

Whether you are returning to Gweek or storing with us for the first time, all customers will be asked to complete a layup form and provide a copy of their insurance documentation prior to arrival.

Dogs Welcome at Our Boatyard

We are delighted to be a dog-friendly boatyard and welcome well-behaved dogs on site.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, we kindly ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times and that owners clean up after their pets.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep the boatyard safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

Launderette update

We are pleased to let you know that our launderette is now open and available for customers to use for their domestic washing, the machines currently accept both cash and AirWallet payments – there is also a machine with auto dosing of detergent and softener.

We kindly ask all users to use environmentally friendly detergents and to leave the space clean and tidy for others, ensuring you remove your clothes in a timely manner allowing everyone to be able to use the machines.

The launderette is open daily and will remain accessible until late each evening.

Contractors

We’re very fortunate to have a number of trusted contractors on site who are available to assist with work on your boat. You can find the current list of contractors based on site on our website here.

There are also other contractors who regularly visit the boatyard. If you are arranging for someone to carry out work on your boat, please ensure that the office has received copies of their Public Liability Insurance and any other required documentation before work commences.

As a reminder, all contractors visiting the site must sign in at the office on arrival and sign out once their work has been completed.

Happy First Birthday, Sula Brunch House!

Sula Brunch House has just celebrated its first birthday with us here at Gweek Classic Boatyard, and what a fantastic year it has been. From welcoming Gordon Ramsay on opening day — certainly a memorable start to the journey — to becoming a favourite spot for locals and visitors alike, Sula has had an incredible first year. Well done Sean & Laura!

It's been wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying everything Sula has to offer, and we're definitely not complaining about having excellent coffee right on our doorstep.

Congratulations to the entire Sula team on a successful first year. We look forward to many more to come.

As always, thank you for your continued support and for being part of the Gweek Classic Boatyard community. It’s a pleasure to welcome so many familiar faces back each year, as well as meeting new customers and businesses who help make the yard such a vibrant and enjoyable place to be.

We hope you have a fantastic summer on the water and plenty of memorable adventures throughout the season. If there is anything we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We look forward to seeing you around the yard soon.

Warm regards,

Gweek Classic Boatyard Admin Team
