BOAT OF THE WEEK

Believed to be built around the 1930s.

’THOR"‘ was made out of mahogany but repaired in sapele, as this was the closest grain, and then blended before varnishing with International Schooner Gold. The Bottom is International Oxford Blue. The engine is a British Seagull 102 model from approximately 1940s and was refurbished by previous owners.

“The only place we have found anyone who really knows what they are doing with an old wooden boat is at Gweek.”
