Working Sail are traditional boat builders and design and build classic wooden pilot cutters. Luke Powell bases his designs on the lines of the historic pilot cutters from the Isles of Scilly, a group of islands West of Cornwall lying at the entrance to the English and Bristol channel. These 19th century sailing working boats adapt beautifully to yachts due to their excellent seaworthiness and good sailing performance. Luke and his highly skilled team completed building and launched his seventh vessel at Gweek Quay Boatyard, 'Amelie Rose' in April 2009. 'Tallulah' was launched in April 2008 and after succesfully completing sea trials was off to her home port, Chichester. For more information visit www.workingsail.co.uk |
